Billy Steenkamp and his family moved to Shelley Point Golf Estate in 2013, excited to leave behind the hubbub of Gauteng and to welcome the rugged beauty of the west coast and the simple life it offered.With a background in geophysics and pastimes like scuba diving, Billy has always been intrigued by the natural world. Eager to capture the uniqueness of the bays surrounding his new home, he began documenting everyday adventures. From extreme sports like shipwreck-diving, sea kayaking and spearfishing to more creative projects like photography, Billy’s portfolio grew rapidly.

Agterbaai Extreme was born from his appreciation of, and dedication to, the bountiful activities and breathtaking natural scenery of this 20km stretch of coastline. It is his desire to share his work with the local community and any visitors wanting to learn more about this unique region. The website and social media platforms also serve to create environmental awareness of the delicate ecosystems found in Agertbaai.
